Gospel Sing Along at the Brunnen Passage, Vienna 1160

The Vienna Konzerthaus’ UNISONO Ensemble gave another evening of music entertainment at the Caritas Brunnenpassage last friday 6.3., and were totally blown away by the eager participation from the audience. The theme of the evening was ‘Sing Along Gospels and Spirituals’, whereby the first half of the evening is spent rehearsing the songs, then singing the program through all together.

We were delighted to work once again with Gerald Wirth, the Director and Principal of the Wiener Sängerknaben, who conducted the whole program, as ever calling upon his passionate and infectious energy to get the packed out audience involved, conducting the throng in SATB voicings, keeping the spirit of the evening authentic to the Gospel theme.

We were also extremely lucky to have Pat Davis, the American singer entertain us in the break, we accompanied her to ‘Joshua Fought the Battle Of Jericho’ and ‘Sign Me Up’, both delivered to the hugely appreciative crowd.

As always, the sing along was supported by the Brunnen Choir, http://www.brunnenpassage.at/projekte/musik/brunnenchor/.

We repeated the program the next day (Saturday 7.3.) at the Vienna Konzerthaus, this time with the Viennese Singakademie under the direction of Heinz Ferlesch. Sadly I don’t have any pictures of this event due to the restrictions of filming in the WKH.

‘Leben’

I’m very pleased to learn that the prize winning short film, ‘Leben – Touching Life’ has been very well received on the international film festival circuit, having been shown at twenty six festivals around the world, from the UK to Chile, Romania to Spain. Together with Patrick O. Beck, we composed and produced the soundtrack for the film in a little under a week, and my endless thanks go to our band, ‘Die Digitale Immigranten’ who so marvelously performed the soundtrack under extreme pressure (from me, on industrial strength painkillers as I had just had my wisdom teeth removed).

The film’s <a href=”http://www.leben-derfilm.de” target=”_blank”>website</a> has more information about the festival selections and awards, and <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/pages/Digitale-Immigranten/222131551147805?fref=ts” target=”_blank”>Die Digitale Immigranten</a> can be found on Facebook.
